The role:

Join our expert team to deliver nurse-led care for post-transplant and late effects patients. We’re looking for a registered nurse with specialist experience in haematology or oncology, ideally with advanced clinical skills (or willingness to achieve these). You will lead clinics, support lifelong patient follow-up, and work closely with consultants in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Permanent, Full-time
  • Base location - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
  • Shift Pattern - Monday – Friday

Key responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Leads holistic, evidence‑based assessment, planning and evaluation of care.
  • Provides specialist clinical assessment, prescribing and expert advice across the MDT.
  • Ensures patient‑centred practice, effective communication and NMC‑compliant documentation.
  • Supports post‑treatment advice services and develops accessible patient information.
  • Collaborates across health and social care and drives evidence‑based change.

Public Health

  • Leads health promotion and education for the patient group.
  • Supports self‑management and wellbeing using appropriate resources.
  • Contributes to health needs assessment and audit.

Professional

  • Empowers patients through inclusive, transparent practice.
  • Works within NMC, NHS and legal frameworks.
  • Applies and promotes evidence‑based, innovative care.

Education and Research/ Audit

  • Provides tailored education to patients and staff.
  • Maintains specialist expertise and leads staff development.
  • Participates in research, trials, audit and applies findings to practice.
  • Evaluates personal and service effectiveness.

Organisational/Managerial

  • Works with transplant teams and AHPs to deliver services to agreed standards.
  • Contributes to strategy, policy and resource planning.
  • Manages time, resources, staffing cover and recruitment processes.
  • Supports workforce development and leads appraisals.
  • Represents the service within wider NHS priorities.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • NMC registration
  • Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Pathway (or ability to complete)
  • Enhanced PVG disclosure
