Role: Platform Engineer Locations: Glasgow(must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis) Salary: Competitive salary and package (depending on level of experience) Please note: Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance, which requires 5 years’ continuous UK address history at the point of application. In our team you will: We typically work hand-in-hand with our clients to build great digital products for them and for their customers. To do this, we need experienced, capable engineers who can both deploy their own mastery to get things done hands-on and successfully lead others in doing so. AIYou’ll be expected to responsibly adopt AI‑assisted engineering practices-such as GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo, and similar tools-for code generation, testing, documentation, and analysis, while understanding model limitations, protecting client data, and improving delivery quality and speed through pragmatic automation SRE & Observability You’ll bring a reliability mindset to delivery, designing services that are operable by default and measured through meaningful SLIs/SLOs. You’ll help teams implement pragmatic observability-logging, metrics, and distributed tracing-with actionable alerting, and you’ll contribute to (or lead) incident response and post-incident reviews that drive learning and measurable improvements. Job qualifications We are looking for experience in the following skills:
- You have experience designing and maintaining scalable CI/CD pipelines for automating software delivery.
- You have hands-on experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, IAC) to provision and manage infrastructure as code efficiently.
- You should have a deep understanding of system performance optimization for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- You should have a deep understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and security monitoring in the cloud.
- You have experience integrating security into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Snyk, Aqua Security, or HashiCorp Vault for secret management
- You should have strong collaboration skills to work across development and infrastructure teams on cloud infrastructure management.
- You should have experience in setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting for improved system observability in SRE space using the tech Stack: GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, Snyk, Vault, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk.
- You’re used to working in DevOps teams with industry-standard practices.
- You have hands-on experience with GenAI, or evidence of actively pursuing personal GenAI projects outside of work.
