Broker Development - North
The Opportunity:
As part of our continuing expansion, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an energised individual to take up the new role of Broker Development – North based in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and engaging new brokers and managing key accounts. The role will report to the Broker Development Lead.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Broker Development Lead and senior ‘sponsors’ of key accounts the role will involve:
- Development of broker accounts and maintaining strong relationships through regular face to face interaction
- Identify opportunities for growth that are aligned to our specialist practices and propositions
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities ensuring CRM system is always up to date
- Supporting the Broker Liaison Team with development objectives
- Promoting the McLarens proposition by regularly posting/sharing content on Linked In, attending events and other networking opportunities
- Involvement in planning and hosting events in close partnership with the Client Services Lead
- Delivering training to brokers in collaboration with our experienced Loss Adjusters
- Undertaking projects
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements of the role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business development/relationship management role in an insurance setting
- Excellent time management, planning and project co-ordination skills
- Resilient and highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Detail oriented with a creative approach to problem solving
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A strong communicator both verbally and in writing
- Great interpersonal skills with a ‘can do’ approach
- Strong work ethic and time management skills
- A proven track record of building strong working relationships, externally and internally
- A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
- Cert CII, Cert CILA or above desirable
- A willingness to travel throughout UK & Ireland
