Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist civil engineering and public realm contracting team. The successful candidate will play a key role in commercial project delivery, working closely with site teams and the Commercial Manager to ensure robust cost control, accurate reporting, and commercial performance across a range of infrastructure, landscaping, and streetscape projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and manage site information, quotations, and cost validations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide accurate cost forecasting and feed up-to-date commercial information to the Commercial Manager.
• Monitor and report on variations, subcontractor quotations, and change control.
• Manage and maintain site records, cost capture, and commercial documentation.
• Support procurement activities including subcontractor and supplier engagement.
• Assist in contractual administration, valuation of interim applications, and settlements.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability across commercial and site responsibilities.
• Help resolve commercial issues quickly and constructively to support project delivery.

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong experience in quantity surveying or commercial roles within civil engineering or construction.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial principles.
• Competent handling of site records, quotations, validations, and feeding cost information to senior commercial management.
• Solid civil engineering background; experience in public realm works desirable but not essential.
• Flexible approach to work: willing to assist across functions and support teams beyond strict job boundaries.
