Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for an Inspector (Roads) to join our Roads service on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details
Our Inspectors monitor and inspect roadworks undertaken by internal and external contractors, public utilities and developers, and investigate and report on public liability claims, assess road defects and issue repair instructions as per the Councils Risk based policy.
You will enjoy a challenge, be enthusiastic to new ways of working and complete work to ensure targets are met. Good communication/interpersonal skills, IT skills and a current driving licence are essential. Previous experience in roads and traffic operations, a HAUC certificate and City & Guilds/ONC/SVQ or equivalent qualification are desirable. Please note that this post involves weekend working for which the relevant non-core payment will be made.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: £30,942.03 - £34,929.32 on an incremental scale
Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts an annual non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £877.
Please note, the annual salary and additional payments will increase by 3.5% from 1 April 2026.
