We’re working with a well-established and growing mechanical services contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior HVAC Estimator to join their team in Glasgow.
This is a senior appointment and a key role within the business, responsible for leading the estimating function across HVAC and mechanical projects, supporting bids, and ensuring commercially sound, competitive submissions across a varied project portfolio.
The Role
*
Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical services projects
*
Take ownership of high-value and complex tenders from initial enquiry through to submission
*
Provide technical and commercial input to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client requirements
*
Oversee and review estimates produced by other team members, ensuring quality and consistency
*
Work closely with operations and project teams to support smooth handover post-award
*
Provide cost advice during pre-contract and early project stages
*
Maintain and develop pricing models, cost databases, and supply chain relationships
*
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tenders and advise accordingly
*
Support continuous improvement within the estimating process
About You
*
Strong background in HVAC / mechanical estimating
*
Extensive experience pricing mechanical services projects across commercial and/or industrial sectors
*
Confident working on complex tenders and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
*
Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail
*
Comfortable leading, mentoring, or influencing others within an estimating function
*
Able to manage deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
*
Proficient with estimating software and Excel
*
Mechanical engineering or construction-related qualifications are advantageous
