Tax Operations Analyst

Join us as a Tax Operations Analyst, where you will shape the future of Banking at Barclays by managing the function to deliver first-class service to stakeholders and customers, facilitating timely and accurate tax reporting, returns, relief and reclaim processes, managing associated operational risks and ensuring the function meets its objectives.

To be successful as a Tax Operations Analyst, you should have:

  • Advanced knowledge of Tax Operations, including a clear understanding of operational tax processes and associated risks.

  • A high level of attention to detail, with the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively in a time‑sensitive, regulated environment.

  • Confident problem‑solving skills, applying technical experience and established guidance to identify and implement solutions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables).

  • The ability to take ownership of tasks, work independently when needed, and contribute positively to team goals.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement, delivering work to a high standard within a fast‑paced environment.

This role is based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
