Producer / Director
Description
This role is supported by Screen Scotland.We are seeking a talented Producer/Director (Self-Shooting) to join Highland Cops Series 5 filming in remote locations across Scotland.This opportunity is specifically aimed at female self-shooters and we actively encourage applications from individuals from backgrounds with reduced social mobility, as part of our commitment to broadening access and representation within the industry.This is a hands-on role for confident, creative storytellers who can balance editorial responsibility with technical expertise on location.
This role is for a 6-8 week period between April - end of June.This role is supported by Screen Scotland. They will film the actuality on location with potential for material to be used in the series.Further skills and experience that will be developed:
- Familiarity with all technical aspects of camera operating
- Strong and confident observational shooting with experience on prime-time BBC documentary series
- Experience of filming/working in sensitive access-environments
- Managing relationships with the wider production team; PM, SP, Location teams
- Managing relationships with contributors, on and off-screen
- Steering narrative and editorial decisions with Producer and SP
- An appreciation of and experience in working with compliance protocols in sensitive environments
- Familiarity with production health and safety on an observational documentary
Filming will take place in geographically remote areas in the Highlands and Islands including Wick, Stornoway, and Kirkwall for example. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to geographical diversity in production and gain experience working in unique and challenging environments.
