Librarian (Ref No. A118)
Part-Time (21 hours)/Permanent/Fraserburgh Campus
Salary: £43,974.32 - £46,336.29 pro rata per annum
Actual Salary: £26,384.59 - £27,801.77 per annum
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Librarian to work as part of our Library+ team based at Fraserburgh Campus. At each College site, the Library+ is at the heart of the Campus, providing learners and staff with access to a wide range of services and facilities to help support learning and teaching.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a recognised degree in Librarianship or Information Management accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP);
- Have Chartered Librarian status (MCLIP) or be working towards this.
- Have experience working in an education library setting.
- Be confident in developing and leading sessions relating to information literacies, study skills and digital skills.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of print and electronic information resources and be able to demonstrate a range of pedagogical approaches to supporting learners to search for, access and use such information.
- Have strong communication skills to work with lecturing staff to ensure curricular needs are being met.
- Have experience providing excellent customer service
- Have the ability to lead and manage a team.

JOB TITLE: Librarian

QUALIFICATIONS
1. A recognised degree in Librarianship or Information Management accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP);
2. *Chartered Librarian status (MCLIP);
3. Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development;
EXPERIENCE
1. Experience of working in a library/learning resource centre;
2. *Experience of working with learners in an academic setting;
3. Line management experience
4. Previous experience in a customer service environment.
5. Experience with using Microsoft 365 packages
6. Experience in the use of a range of digital applications
7. Broad understanding of technologies used for learning.
KNOWLEDGE
1. Strong knowledge of library operations;
2. Strong knowledge of customer care;
3. Knowledge of information & digital resources:
4. *Knowledge of current or potential issues in library/information managment that may impact on curriculum delivery. Current awareness/professional practice
