Senior Structural Engineer - Glasgow Location: Glasgow, Scotland Sector: Residential & Commercial Buildings Employment Type: Full-time, salary up to £50,000 About the Senior Structural Engineer role; My client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative structural solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial building projects, from early-stage concept design through to construction. You will play a key role in technical delivery, project leadership, and mentoring junior engineers, while working closely with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure high-quality, practical, and cost-effective designs. Key Responsibilities Lead structural design for residential and commercial developments. Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications. Manage projects from concept through detailed design and construction phases. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Ensure designs comply with relevant UK codes, standards, and regulations. Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning and delivery strategies.Requirements of this Senior Structural Engineer role; Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership. Significant experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings. Strong knowledge of UK design standards (Eurocodes and British Standards). Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
