Accounts Payable Assistant - Hybrid

Utopian Professional Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded client to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience within accounting or finance, particularly those with exposure to accounts payable and/or billing processes. The role is integral to ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial processing across billing, invoicing, payments, expense management, and system workflows.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Accurate and timely posting of invoices, credit notes, journal adjustments, direct bank payments and foreign drafts
• Following up with budget holders to seek authorisation for invoices
• Creating new supplier accounts
• Creating schedules of invoices due to be paid
• Setting up electronic payments to suppliers
• Reconciliation of supplier statements and liaising with suppliers when necessary
• Requisition of copy invoices and copy statements
• Dealing with supplier queries in an appropriate and timely manner
• Processing invoices using Purchase Orders
• Carrying out duties for 3 overseas offices the same as above
• Audit Expenses for both Credit Cards and Out of Pocket Expenses
• Managing System Workflows

To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for the following background / experience:

• Previous experience of working within a finance function with exposure to billing, accounts payable or a transaction processing role
• High level or accuracy and attention to detail
• Extremely organised and manages time effectively with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence dealing with people of all levels across the business
• Good numeric, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
• Strong technical capabilities and quick learner
• Fully committed to a 6mth contract
