Control Systems Engineer
We're supporting a high-performing manufacturing site in Glasgow looking for a Controls Engineer to take ownership of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement across site operations.
This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production running at maximum capacity -safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
What you'll be doing:
- Diagnosing faults and supporting breakdowns across plant and site services
- Maintaining and improving PLC/SCADA systems and electrical standards
- Leading automation upgrades, modifications, and project work
- Managing electrical compliance, inspections, and documentation
- Supporting CI initiatives to improve plant performance
- Acting as the site's electrical safety champion
What you'll bring:
- Strong PLC & SCADA experience (Rockwell Allen Bradley a must - Modicon a bonus!)
- Knowledge of industrial networks (e.g. DeviceNet)
- Experience with iFix, SQL/reporting systems, and legacy controls
- Structured approach to software design, testing, and documentation
- Ability to support both project work and reactive maintenance
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing on site
