Position Summary

Blue Arrow is currently recruiting experienced and reliable Class 2 Bin Lorry Drivers to support waste management operations for a local authority in the Glasgow area. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified drivers seeking stable, ongoing work with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Details

Employment Type: Ongoing temporary contract with high potential for permanent placement

Pay Rate:

• Standard hourly rate: £13.45
• Additional hour for vehicle checks: £19.67

Shift Pattern:

• 4 days on / 4 days off rotation
• Shifts may include early starts and weekend work depending on operational needs

Start Date: Subject to successful completion of assessment and induction

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 2 refuse collection vehicles in accordance with safety and operational standards
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Work collaboratively with loaders and depot staff to ensure timely and efficient waste collection
• Adhere to all relevant health & safety and local authority regulations
• Maintain accurate records of routes, collections, and vehicle usage

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
• Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience in waste collection or similar driving roles preferred
• Must be available for assessment and induction prior to starting
• Strong understanding of road safety and vehicle maintenance procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
