Project Manager (Operational Technology)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Operational Technology to deliver a portfolio of OT refresh and modernisation initiatives within a live, high‑availability environment. This is a critical delivery role focused on improving resilience, managing technology obsolescence and reducing operational, technical and cyber risk across a complex OT estate.
You will take end‑to‑end ownership of multiple infrastructure and platform refresh projects, ensuring safe delivery in operational environments where service availability is paramount
Here’s what the role looks like:
- Effectively manage complex OT & IT projects, drive operational efficiency and deliver successful outcomes
- Lead the delivery of OT refresh and modernisation projects, including platform upgrades, server and hardware replacement, and application re‑platforming.
- Manage projects in live, high‑availability environments with restricted outage windows and complex dependencies.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets
- Work closely with technical leads to ensure deliverable, supportable solutions aligned to agreed architectures.
- Manage supplier performance against agreed milestones, quality standards and outcomes.
- Deliver multiple concurrent initiatives, ranging from full projects to smaller work packages, aligned to lifecycle‑driven priorities.
- Manage the day to day activities of project team, ensuring project teams stay on task and on schedule
- Act as the primary point of contact between project teams and clients
- Monitor project progress and report on project status to upper management
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
- Streamline governance and efficient risk mitigation processes
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex IT or OT infrastructure projects within operational or regulated environments.
- Strong background in technology refresh or obsolescence‑driven delivery programmes.
- Demonstrable control of time, cost, quality and risk across the full project lifecycle.
- Experience working with third‑party suppliers and systems integrators.
- Comfortable operating within structured programme and governance frameworks.
- Experience in utilities, energy or OT‑heavy environments is highly desirable.
