Lift and Escalators Service Engineer - Glasgow/West
We are currently recruiting for a Lift and Escalators Service Engineer to join our team to cover Glasgow/West. They will also oversee improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift and Escalator equipment downtime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components.
Your main responsibilities:
- Conducting routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc)
- Rectifying and reducing faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning
- Checking the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
- Conducting the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures
- Reinstating lift/escalator and complete service documentation
- Conducting more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
- Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information
- Conducting site surveys and attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills
What you bring:
- Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent
- Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach
- Effective communication skills at various levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors)
- Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Good administration skills and punctuality
- Full UK driving license
