The Role

To work as a key part of the rostering team during implementation, providing expert guidance and advice to enhance the effective use of the eRostering system across all Agenda for Change (AfC) staff groups.

To provide operational support to the rostering team, including data gathering, accurate data input, system configuration and testing, helpdesk support, and delivery of training to colleagues and end users.

Please note this is a fixed term post until the 31st March 2027. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post. - Delete if not required

In this key role, you will:
  • Lead, co-ordinate and facilitate production of the Workforce Plan for each NHS Lanarkshire strategic planning work stream which will be approved by the Lanarkshire strategic planning steering group. Ensuring the plan supports and meets the needs of the diverse range of partner agencies, adheres to national statutory requirements, and correlates to relevant strategic, service and financial plans of NHS Lanarkshire, the appropriate H&SCP and Local Government
  • Ensure effective processes are in place to monitor delivery and report on outcomes arising from workforce planning activity that meet reporting requirements of the NHS Lanarkshire, the appropriate H&SCP and Local Government
  • To provide research analysis and project management expertise in order to support the strategic planning work stream in achieving key business objectives.
  • Support each strategic planning work stream with modelling of the current and future workforce models through changes, enabling the work stream to ensure the most effective use of its workforce
What You'll Bring:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent in a relevant area i.e. clinical or general management, service planning, information management or human resources.
  • Postgraduate level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area i.e. general management, change management, service planning, information management or human resources.
  • Ability to identify, assimilate, critically evaluate and deliver on objectives with a high level of complexity equivalent to post graduate level.
  • Substantial health service planning and performance management experience and skills. including change management and service/workforce redesign.
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
