I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support my 12 year old son. My son is non-speaking and has Global Development Delay and medically controlled Epilepsy.

My son is lovely, funny and affectionate who can be fairly challenging at times. The right person will be enthusiastic and engage fully with my son. Be willing to suggest activities indoor and outdoor alongside my son's established favourites places to visit.

Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities is essential, as are the following qualities: energetic, fun-loving, pro-active, patient, positive and extremely empathetic.

My son is tall and strong so the right person will need to be physically fit and be able to adapt plans if necessary, responding to my son's cues and needs.

The right person must be very confident in water; constant supervision is crucial, an important part of your role is to keep my son safe.

Rate of Pay: £16.50 per hour 8 hours per week with overtime available and lots of extra hours during school holidays.

Saturday: 5 hours (flex about start time but ideally 10 am)

Wednesday: 3 hours paid to take my son swimming at the local swimming pool.

Start date would be ASAP.

Full driving license and own car is essential (expenses will be paid)

PVG Scheme Membership or Scheme Update will be required by the successful applicant. Please note the candidates will be expected to cover the cost for this.
