The role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse working within the Ophthalmology

Outpatient Departments in Gartnavel General Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the Ophthalmology team, deputising in the absence of the SCN, supervising and supporting an experienced team of RN’s and HCSW’s.

You will have the responsibility of assessment delivery and supervision of all care needs within the outpatient department.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • This is a full time role
  • The shift pattern is Monday to Saturday
  • This post will be based within Gartnavel General Hospital

Key responsibilities:

You will be required to work within a busy clinical area, working collaboratively with both nursing and medical teams.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of evidence-based care utilising your clinical skills to assess patients’ needs, implement and evaluate care. You are required to be flexible, forward-thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • You will be an effective leader and should have excellent communication and sound decision-making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development. Experience within the speciality is essential.
