Senior Quantity Surveyor
JOB TITLE: Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: Glasgow Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Bonus Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Sector: Civil Engineering Infrastructure - Water, Power & Civils About the Company Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering infrastructure projects across Scotland. Operating for over 60 years, the business delivers a wide range of civil engineering works across water, energy, marine and infrastructure sectors. With a strong regional presence and a growing pipeline of secured work, they continue to invest in their commercial team to support delivery across key frameworks and standalone projects. Our client is looking to move fast as they have an abundance of work on the horizon into the new financial year. About the Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering projects across Scotland, working across a diverse portfolio including water, power and infrastructure schemes. This role would suit a well-rounded Quantity Surveyor with experience across multiple sectors, ideally with exposure to Scottish Water or SSE frameworks. You will work closely with project teams to ensure commercial performance is maintained while supporting the successful delivery of projects. The key requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Manage commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account
- Prepare and manage applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and account management
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Administer contracts in line with NEC or similar forms
- Support project teams with accurate commercial reporting
- Manage variations, compensation events and change control processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Experience working across water, power or general civil engineering schemes
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts particularly NEC4
- Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes
- Strong commercial awareness and financial control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working on Scottish Water or SSE frameworks
- Experience working within a main contractor environment
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Working towards or holding RICS accreditation
- £55,000 - £65,000 salary depending on experience
- £7,000 car allowance
