Operations Regulatory Control Assistant Vice President

  • Provide governance and oversight of transaction reporting obligations, with a primary focus on MiFID II and EMIR.
  • Assess and respond to regulatory queries, FCA requests, audits, and reviews, including Market Watch-related themes.
  • Lead investigations into reporting issues, including root cause analysis and impact assessments
  • Design, review, and assess controls to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee issue management , ensuring risks are clearly articulated, remediations are effective, & timelines are delivered.
  • Chair or contribute to governance forums, producing high-quality documentation and clear senior-level reporting.
  • Work closely with Technology and Change teams to review control enhancements, system changes, and remediation delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including conformance testing, automation, and reporting enhancements.
  • Some other highly valued skills may include, To protect client money when executing day-to-day CASS services, aligned to relevant regulatory obligations.,
  • Provision of day-to-day services to ensure the bank meets its CASS regulatory obligations in the protection of client money and assets.
  • Monitoring operational processes and aligning with CASS regulation and guidelines.
  • Execution of regular reconciliation to ensure that they are being processed in accordance with CASS requirements.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepancies and/or other issues related to CASS.
  • On and offboarding of new customers, including the review and assessment of requests, and establishment of appropriate controls.
  • Development and implementation of new process, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance effectiveness of CASS operations.
  • Support the execution of audits and regulatory inspections related to CASS operations through the provision of key information including documents and reports.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve CASS operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.

  • Experience working in transaction reporting, regulatory control, compliance, or governance, within a financial services organisation.
  • Proven ability to analyse data, identify control weaknesses, and exercise sound judgement in risk-based decision making.
  • Experience in designing, documenting, and assessing controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise regulatory and governance documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging and influencing across senior and technical audiences.
