Assistant Housing Officer

Toryglen, Glasgow

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Housing Officer to join our Housing team based in Toryglen. You will be working in a team of 10, Housing Manager, Assistant Housing Officers, Housing Officers and a Welfare Rights Officer. You will work on a variety of administrative tasks to provide support and enable the delivery of a high-quality housing management service. You will receive full training, on-going support and opportunities to develop. Whilst this is a very diverse and challenging role, it is equally rewarding. If you are highly motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service, this could be the role for you. The role of Assistant Housing Officer will include:

  • Support the delivery of a quality housing management service that meets the needs and expectations of current/future residents and the wider community in line with Sanctuary in Scotland's business plan
  • Support the coordination of low-level ASB, Arrears and Estate Management cases in line with the prescribed policies and practices ensuring that remedial action is taken to build community cohesion
  • Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes for Sanctuary in Scotland customers and to minimise potential risks
  • Develop, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, residents, staff and external agencies, to
  • ensure the effective management of housing services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
  • Support the management of all complaints for service area in line with policy, focussing on first contact
  • resolution and the identification of future learning opportunities to achieve customer service excellence

    Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5
  • SVQ2 in relevant area
  • Some experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
  • Working knowledge of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Some knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Some experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
