Refrigeration Engineer Location: Glasgow & Central Belt Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum OTE: £55,000 - £65,000 (with overtime & call-out) Benefits: Company vehicle, fuel card, overtime, standby allowance, tools, PPE, training Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Service Engineer to cover Glasgow and the Central Belt. This is a fully mobile service role working across commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems in retail, hospitality, and commercial environments. You will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, reactive breakdowns, fault-finding, and repairs while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Service & Maintenance Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of commercial refrigeration systems Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns Accurately diagnose refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical faults Replace components including compressors, fans, valves, evaporators, and controls Perform pressure testing, evacuation, leak detection, and refrigerant charging in line with F-Gas regulations Systems Worked On Walk-in cold rooms (chilled & frozen) Multideck, upright, and undercounter display cabinets Pack systems and remote condenser units Freezers and blast chillers Split A/C and light commercial VRF/VRV systems Compliance & Customer Interaction Complete service reports, F-Gas logs, and compliance documentation Ensure all works meet health & safety and legislative requirements Liaise with site managers and facilities teams Provide technical advice and repair recommendations Requirements NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning F-Gas Category 1 (essential) Proven commercial refrigeration service experience Strong electrical fault-finding skills Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and professionally
