Senior Finance Systems Business Analyst - 18 Month FTC
The Opportunity
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) oversees and delivers a portfolio of programs and initiatives aligned to the Firm's strategic goals.
Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst with a dotted line to the Finance Integration Lead, the role will be responsible for supporting a programme of work within the Finance Department with a focus on process design, reporting design, business analysis, reporting specifications development, and data touch points.
This is a full time, 18 month FTC role that can be based in either our Glasgow office or our London office with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the analysis, validation, and verification of requirements, ensuring they are complete, traceable, and unambiguous.
- Gather requirements using various techniques such as interviews, workshops, use cases, scenarios, and UX designs.
- Facilitate prioritisation of requirements based on business value.
- Manage and enhance user requirements or product backlogs, and oversee changes using change control processes and tools.
- Design and document end-to-end business processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and standardization.
- Develop reporting requirements and specifications, working with stakeholders to define key metrics, data sources, and output formats.
- Identify and document data touch points across systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business needs.
- Produce detailed functional and technical specifications to support solution development and implementation.
- Liaise with workstream leads to ensure solutions and plans align with business requirements.
- Work with third-party suppliers to communicate requirements and ensure solutions meet quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with business areas to define system requirements or processes.
- ( RAIDDs ).
- Collaborate with the wider project team, including business stakeholders, project managers, communications, training, testing, development, and architecture teams.
Essential skills and experience:
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in customer-facing roles, specialising in finance project delivery with proven track record in complex, large-scale business transformation projects, ideally in global organisations
- Strong numerical and excel skills, with corporate financial literacy
- Ability to build requirements supporting financial data models, processes, and reports
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans to achieve desired outcomes
- Able to influence, engage, and manage stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organized, able to prioritize diverse workloads, and work independently to meet deadlines
- Effective collaborator, experienced in working with remote, global teams
- Excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal abilities to bring clarity to complex operational environment
- Tactful and diplomatic under pressure
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Capable of analysing, challenging, and modelling new business processes and procedures
- Extensive experience with technology and IT projects.
- Proficient in BA methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Advanced user of MS Office suite, and familiar with MS DevOps, Jira, and Confluence
- Experienced in structured project framework
- Knowledgeable in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
