Position Summary

Providing Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, and Navcom support to the assigned fleet. Managing EIA functions to ensure safe, cost‑effective, and environmentally compliant vessel operations. Attending vessels for dry dockings, projects, repairs, sea/gas trials, and surveys as required.

Major Responsibilities
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance across all electrical, instrumentation, automation and NavCom activities within operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company management system, HSE requirements, and maintenance philosophy. 
  • Act as the subject matter expert for EIA systems related to LNG and/or NGL operations, representing Seapeak at industry events as required. 
  • Develop, review, and maintain fleet-wide EIA programs, policies, and standards, recommending improvements where appropriate. 
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments and advise on their impact to existing and future operations. 
  • Review EIA and NavCom work scopes, repair and conversion specifications, and conduct inspections to verify adherence to approved maintenance strategies. 
  • Participate in HSE meetings, providing technical input and approving incident close-outs. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to the engineering change management process for EIA systems. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance on the company’s management systems, strategic programs, and approved software tools. 
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for Vessel Managers and ship teams, providing operational advice and troubleshooting support. 
  • Lead and support assigned CAPEX projects, including modifications and upgrades, monitoring implementation and providing feedback for future budget planning. 
  • Support Marine HR with ETO technical interviews, onboarding, familiarization, and identification of appropriate technical training. 
  • Participate in ship team operational meetings and assist with the resolution of reported defects and operational issues. 
  • Analyse operational and maintenance data to identify trends, prepare summary reports, and recommend performance improvements. 
  • Develop fleet-specific strategies and best practices for the operation and maintenance of EIA systems. 
  • Manage assigned EIA projects, including major repairs, investigations, programs, and associated stakeholder engagement. 
  • Support newbuild and project specification reviews, including selection and evaluation of EIA and NavCom equipment and assessment of new technologies for newbuilds and retrofits. 
  • Develop and maintain design criteria for EIA systems. 
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • The immediate right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  • Education and training as an electrical engineer.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in the marine industry.
  • Knowledge of technical operations.
  • Familiar with current technology and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
Preferred
  • Experience of LNG vessels or NGL vessels either in a seafarer or superintendency role.
