The role:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde serves a population of approximately 1.4 million people. As a result, the rheumatology AHP service in Glasgow is a multidisciplinary, patient-centred service embedded within NHSGGC. An opportunity has arisen to join this supportive and progressive team on a part-time basis.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Permanent, part-time

Base location - Gartnavel Hospital Physiotherapy

Shift Pattern - Monday - Wednesday

Key responsibilities:

  • Work across a variety of rheumatology service areas within GGC, including:
    • Secondary care physiotherapy
    • Exercise-based rehabilitation
    • Flare clinics
    • Complex clinical decision making
    • Application of injection therapy
    • Use of point‑of‑care ultrasound
  • Participate in enhanced vetting sessions.
  • Support junior staff and students.
  • Build and maintain relationships within Scottish and British Rheumatology Society Networks.
  • Lead and contribute to audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
  • Engage in personal and service development initiatives within the AHP rheumatology team.
  • Contribute to improving patient experience as part of a motivated and innovative service.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Significant post‑graduate experience in a relevant outpatient or long‑term condition service.
  • Ideally, experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Motivation to deliver person‑centred care.
  • Interest and drive in service development.
  • Forward‑thinking approach to the future delivery of rheumatology physiotherapy.
